Originally designed to kill pavement weeds in The Netherlands the world class spot spraying technology made its way down under over a decade ago. This award winning Dutch invention is what we know as the NIR

detecting WEED-IT sensor. Over 15 thousand sensors later WEED-IT is the clear market leader in Australia having given farmers plenty to smile about with savings of up to 90% on chemical usage and the satisfaction of conquering previously hard to kill summer weeds. With less stubble shading, tall weed coverage, double the benefits of 50 cm spacing and seamless operation WEED-IT is user friendly. WEED-IT Quadro

Some technical details & benefits outlined below

​

  • Red Light system valve opens 20ms, Quadro Blue Light valve opens in 4ms, other brands out there opens in 200ms

  • Quadro valve operates at 50 times per second

  • WEED-IT weight is up to 50% lighter than competitors due to using current sprayer wet line

  • Quadro sensors weigh 50% less than the old red light system

  • Quadro operating speed can be up to 24km/h but due to boom stability real world speeds are around 18km to 20km

  • On the current sprayer wet line there can be 4 nozzles on the one nozzle body, 2 for WEED-IT and 2 for Blanket Line

  • Quadro has three modes of operation, spot mode, blanket mode and spot blanket mode

  • WEED-IT sensors are fitted higher on the boom providing protection to the camera.  Other systems are mounted on the bottom of the boom

  • In field we have found greater WEED-IT targeting sensitivity from the red light system to Quadro

  • There is more new functions coming for Quadro that cannot be spoken of at this stage

  • When Quadro nozzle spacing is 25cm & the competitor is 50cm, WEED-IT will use up to 50% less chemical

  • Quadro has a very simple and light weight cabling, no need for junction boxes along the boom

  • Turn rate compensation on WEED-IT Blanket spray using pulse width modulation technology (Bit like the aim command and Raven Hawkeye)

  • WEED-IT Quadro uses 40 degree nozzles and some other brands are 85 degrees
